Pipes and pumps
- Pipes carry liquids and gases between machines; the material you build them from sets their temperature tolerance (copper/iron/steel/aluminium/glass/brick/concrete).
- Insulated pipes keep hot fluids hot (steam!); radiant pipes deliberately shed heat: use them as radiators.
- Pumps push fluids from the world into pipes (place in liquid,
LMB); gas pumps take from the top: park one next to a furnace chimney to capture CO₂.
- Tanks buffer fluids; valves gate flow and can be signal-controlled.
Ventilation
- Vents exchange air between inside and outside; the air purifier filters CO₂, toxins and radioactive dust with the right filter installed (HEPA / charcoal / lead-zeolite).
- Hot gases rise. Chimneys above furnaces + a capture pump beat scrubbing later.
- Watch the top-right air panel: pressure, O₂ share, temperature, toxins, dose. BREATHABLE means the helmet can open.
Boiling, freezing, phase changes
Every fluid has real transition points (see Materials): water boils to steam at 100 °C, freezes at -1 °C; steam condenses back; methane condenses at cryogenic temperatures. Machines and the world both respect these: your cooling loop can literally freeze solid on an ice world.
